The semi-finalists in the Spring 2022 Best Brief Competition are: Jessica Biggott, Morgan Bloch, Lily Broyles, Claudia Drace, Stephen Goettsche, Catherine Harding, Taylor Hatridge, Jodi Klagos, Madeline Koengeter, Tracy Lu, Carter Mickelson, Margaret Min, Kyle Minden, James Moes, Sadie Murray, Jill Patzner, Hayley Rich, Sarah Ross, McKailah Strang, Diedre Suri, Nicholas Surprise, and Laura Yurs.

The Best Brief Competition is an annual event that recognizes outstanding legal writing by first-year students. The Legal Research and Writing (LRW) faculty nominated these students as semi-finalists because they wrote the best appellate briefs during the spring semester LRW course.

Next, Wisconsin attorneys will evaluate the semi-finalists' briefs to determine who will become finalists. A panel of Law School faculty will then evaluate the finalists' briefs to decide the winner, who will be announced by October 2022.
